Submission Guidelines Do you have knowledge to share or a technique to teach? Do you have an opinion about an issue involving model horses or an insight you would like to offer? Is there something you feel needs to be changed or addressed by the community as a whole? Equine Collectibles is committed to airing substantive discussions about topics of interest to collectors and exhibitors, and is always looking for thoughtful—and thought-provoking—articles, essays or even just a letter to the Editor. When submitting materials, please use the following guidelines: Technical Guidelines - Articles A typical article runs between 800 and 2000 words. Letters to the Editor should be no longer than 300 words; if you find that you need significantly more space than that, please consider writing a full article instead. Text can be submitted as a .doc file or in the body of an email. Articles with photos are preferred; images should be sent separately using the guidelines below. Technical Guidelines - Images Full-color printing requires high-resolution images. For best results, images should be 300 dpi. Lower resolution photos (72 dpi is the default on many digital cameras) will still work if the images are large (greater than 1800 pixels in width). Photos submitted for consideration for the cover need to be 2625 x 3375 pixels. Please do not resample images. It is not necessary to convert your images to CMYK. Acceptable file formats are: .png, .jpg, .psd, .pdf Event Listings Please include the following information: date, event name, location, event coordinator or show holder, contact information (email), website and any qualifier status, if any. Shows do not have to be qualifiers to be listed. For specialty shows, and shows that offer full Novice or Youth divisions, that information will be included when space permits. For online and mail-in photo shows, please list months that shows are offered and the sponsoring organization (club) if there is one, whether or not membership is required. Clubs that offer both types of photo shows can submit listings for both types. Advertising Please follow the instructions for images. Fullpage ads have a .125 bleed all around. All others ad sizes are exact dimensions (no bleed). Include or embed all necessary fonts. Premium location ads (front and back interior covers, back cover) can be reserved and are billed 30 days prior to publication. Final ad dimensions are: Full page : 8.5 x 11 Half page (horizontal): 7.625 x 5 Half page (vertical): 3.75 x 10.25 Quarter page: 3.75 x 5 Deadline The deadline for editorial content for the June 2016 issue is March 30.
