He then went on to take in hand horse champion! We were over-the-moon with this result, as all the hard work is paying off. We are so excited about his future, as he is proving to be our ultimate dream-come-true and every reason why we bred him, I know his mum will be watching him and will be so proud! Thank you to everyone involved in the show, we had a super day!” Gillian Wilkinson said “We all just wanted to say what a lovely day we had on Sunday at your championships. We were unsure whether to bother with the two hour journey this year as Maplebeck Merlyns Mischief winning the Welsh A & Bs we would be bringing a new partnership. So glad we did. Of course it helped that the sun shone and the show was brilliantly run and everyone was approachable, friendly and helpful. Our little jockey, Blake Auchterlonie, has only been riding for a few years and has only been on our hunter pony for twelve weeks. He tried in three classes and in his third class he managed to get an honourable fifth. His mum and sister, my husband and I were really pleased with the day’s ‘work’. I just thought you might all like to know that it’s not just the firsts and the champions that go home happy and that sometimes the experience of being at a show like this is enough. I’d also like to say I’m Leah May on Mini Apache winning the WH championship Kirstie Wright on Millhouse Adimo Pectore 1st sports horse Pony Ridden Final Eve Duggan 1st ridden Cob Ridden Horse champion Immortal Significance & Louise Gaskin www.equestrianlifemagazine.co.uk EL-SEPT13-S1.indd 15 15 22/08/2013 21:26:45
