Effects, consequences, and bases of racism.
Racism is an idea that means the feeling of superiority among people who are different in physical and genetic traits. According to Audrey Smedley (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2017) The idea of race was brought by europeans they felt superior and make them feel inferior, making them believe that being different is a bad thing. Racism has seriously impacted the world, originating heavy events like slavery and wars that are the base for modern racism.
First of all the europeans arrived at the coast of America on October 12, 1492, they found other people that they didn’t know existed. They were indigenous groups, which were very different from the spanish. Thus, the spanish called them Indians. Some years later, other europeans countries arrived at America to conquer all the land they were able to because they felt superior to the indigenous groups. This is racism by intent.
