The information provided is intended to give you tips on how to achieve your best complexion. Your complexion as you must know is truly your own, so don’t be hard on yourself. If the basic tips aren’t helping consult a Dermatologist or Health Care provider for a more comprehensive regime that may be required for you.
3. Cleansing our skin- Be gentle the days of scrubbing your skin until its tight and dry are over! In fact, if you feel that your skin is extremely dry after cleansing, you want to re-evaluate your cleanser. There are many inexpensive cleansers that can be purchased at your local drugstore or major stores.
4. Exfoliate your skin- As we age the cell turnover process of our skin slows down, therefore it helps to keep a healthy and smooth complexion by gently exfoliating. This can be done by using a mild exfoliating mask, micro-scrub cream, or buff puffs. Remember, be gentle!
5. Moisturize- Remember the best way to moisturize is from the inside; however there are ways that we want to retain the moisture after cleansing. We always want to pat dry and then apply moisturizer to slightly damp skin.
6. Blemish control with Caution – There are many over the counter products, home remedies and even our own twists as to how to prevent a breakout. For many, a break out is our skin telling us something is out of balance, however the worst thing we can do is try to “pop” or burst the pimple(s) ourselves. As tempting and as desperate as we may feel to make this “crater” (that appears a lot bigger to us as anyone else) go away fast, we often can create a bigger problem. When you are experiencing a breakout my tips of advice: when cleansing the area with a break out in order to prevent spreading the bacteria wash the area and wash your hands, repeat before moving to the other areas of your face; apply the topical treatment at night and try to rest and pray that it goes down before school, the big event or work tomorrow
