Environmental Scan 2017: Human Capital Issues within the Medical Devices Sector 5 Workforce Training System for the Medical Devices Industry 5.1 Relevant Educational/Training Institutions and Training Programs Five public universities, two private universities/colleges, one skill training institution and one polytechnic currently offer Biomedical Engineering course in Malaysia, which aims to generate talents that are capable in the development, design, and continuing refinement of medical devices. These 9 institutions generate in total around 800 Biomedical Engineering graduates yearly.
