Currently, only 42 % of the surgical / medical gloves manufacturers, 27 % of other medical consumables companies and 20 % of the non-consumables companies employ robots or other labour saving devices as part of the automation process. Most of these companies in the surgical / medical gloves segment employ between 3 to 8 robots / labour saving devices currently. Those in the other medical consumables segment employ between 2 to 8 robots / labour saving devices, whereas those in non-consumables segment employ between 1 to 3 robots / labour saving devices.
Moving forward, only 33 % of the surveyed surgical / medical gloves manufacturers, 15 % of the other medical consumables companies surveyed and 20 % of the surveyed non-consumables companies plan to deploy new robots / labour saving devices in the next 12 to 18 months.
