CYCLING FUN
ride for the veterans
The Tour of California has partnered with Ride 2 Recovery Foundation and will
offer a recreational ride for cyclists May 10 — the day before the Tour of California
— in Sacramento. It starts on the north side of the capital and follows the circuit
of the tour as well as scenic neighborhoods throughout Sacramento. Ride 2
Recovery raises money and awareness for the country's wounded veterans.

want to be a volunteer?
As the nation's largest and most prestigious professional cycling race, the Amgen
Tour of California provides the opportunity for cycling fans and community
members throughout the 750-mile-course to experience the race from the inside.
The organizers are looking for 4,000 volunteers to assist race staff and law
enforcement. They also will help monitor pedestrian traffic, barricades and
road closures, as well as keeping spectators informed and acting as liaisons with
the cyclists and their teams. In the 12 host cities, volunteers for media support,
security and volunteer check-in are also being recruited. Volunteers must be
18-and-over or accompanied by an adult.
