What Residents are Saying About ENLS

Neurological emergencies can be some of the most intimidating experiences for residents to encounter . The spectrum of clinical presentations is highly variable , which makes an early and accurate diagnosis challenging . Patients are often unable to provide a history , so trainees are forced to interpret information that is foreign to them , such as the neurological exam and neuroimaging . These challenges can lead to delays
in care , and when “ time is brain ,” every minute matters . Emergency Neurological Life Support can play an instrumental role in the training of residents who encounter Neurocritically ill patients . It provides concise protocols
for early recognition and management of all neurological emergencies in such a way that residents of any specialty can assimilate into their practice . ENLS is applicable to a number of residency programs , including emergency medicine , internal medicine ,
anesthesiology , neurology and neurosurgery . After completing the ENLS course , residents from multiple specialties can approach neurological emergencies with confidence and efficiency .
