Materials:
Colouring dye (Silver and black)
Carving tools & Other Woodwork tools
1 Plank of wood + 2 small pieces (for end on chain) and another in shape of revolver.
Permanent Black Marker
Image of the choice below for reference
Chain
Steps: (READ CAREFULLY.)
1. Get a large [in both width (not too thick!) and height] plank of wood
2. Draw the image of the Gun-Sword on the plank (try to make it as large as you can.)
3. Get to work with your tools! Start cutting through the plank, following the lines as best you can.
4. Once it’s cut out, carve out the trigger-slot on the handle, and one where the revolver part is.
5. Now with sandpaper or a desander, smooth out the wood, getting rid of splinters and putting rough edges to a point.
6. Now, pour the silver and black dyes into separate bowls.
7. Using the picture for reference dip the appropriate parts of the creation into each dye carefully!
8. Smooth the dye off of the weapon, getting rid of excess dye or chunks, carefully or you will take some of the dye off completely!
9. Let it dry. (30 minutes - 1 hour)
10. Once it’s dry, carefully attach the chain to the handle and get to work on your last two parts.
11. The last two pieces are the symbol on the end of the chain, and the revolver. So repeat the steps for them. But before you start, you don’t HAVE to make both pieces 3D. That’s for show.
12. Then attach your new 2 pieces. Only one more step!
13. Now, draw the logo on the blade of Squall’s sword with your trusty permanent marker.
14. Congrats! You have made Squall’s weapon! Now go show it off to your friends!
Welcome to the Recipes and Fashion section of Enix Reloaded! We will be focusing on a recipe for woodwork in this week’s issue. This week, we are going to make a wooden version (with the exception of a chain) of Squall Leonhart’s Gun-Sword from Final Fantasy VIII.
