Dear Acu,

I personally feel that anyone who cant use voice is hiding something..maybe lying about, race, gender, age or something...certainly they have a right to use text only...Is my curiosity an invasion of privacy because I want to know exactly who I am chatting with?

All woman and willing to prove it!

First let me say, All Woman, that it is good you know what you need and expect to move forward in your relationships online. There's nothing wrong with requesting that someone verify that they are who they say they are. However, no one is obligated to share his or her personal life or identity with you. That being said, it is probably a good idea that you accept a person's refusal and move on. Whether the person is being shady or not, is really irrelevant. You are not obligated to continue the connection if they are unwilling to provide you what you need to feel safe in the relationship. Period…

Dear Acu,

When and how do you establish that you are using SL as a dating forum and not for roleplay?

IMMEDIATELY! …and if you are unsure ASK! It is important that people understand your intentions early on. This is especially the case if your time in world is focused primarily on role-play. There are others who seek true connection through the people they meet online. It can be confusing when they do not fully understand some people only use virtual gaming to role-play fantasy. You will save another person a lot of hurt and disappointment (and yourself a lot of drama) if you are clear and transparent upfront

about what your connection to them means. It also ensures everyone is able to “play

fair” and have an enjoyable and satisfying Second Life experience.
