The immigrants have come from all over the globe. They have come from Italy, Ireland, Norway, Germany, and even England. They have come for many different reasons such as persecution, freedom, and a new life and opportunities. They are hoping that it is just as the people said it would be. They also thought that it would be easy to get started in this new life. It is nothing like the people said it would be, there are no roads paved of gold, the roads aren’t even paved. It also isn’t easy to get started in America unless you have family here, which is very unlikely.
