Well, most of the inventions that we commonly use today originated from the inventions made in the industrialization period. One of inventions during the industrialization period was the first transcontinental railroad. During this time, many railroads were used but it was the first to cross the United States. This is why immigrants were starting to come more often to America. They started coming through the statue of liberty during 1892-1954. The immigrants came through this time in the late 1800s because their wages where lower than what they could make in America or because of war, food famine, and other personal reasons. When the immigrants had arrived, they had no idea what to expect but only knew what other people told them about America. The immigrants lived in dirty conditions and lived in tenements with several other families. They lived like this because they could not afford better clothing or regular bathing. When they worked in the factory, they usually worked long shifts and the air was suffocating. If the immigrants and/or poor peoples could not afford to pay their bills, they had put their children to work in the factories as well. Since business men were making profit off of children at very low wages, they were not complaining about the environment for the children. Also during that time, politics were not concerned about how people and immigrants were living. At that point, the politics were happy that the immigration rate was growing because that meant that the population was growing to.
