The Recording Revolution
with Graham Cochrane
Introduction
The Recvording Revolution has become a place that we have felt must be noticed. For one, one man has put together a site that is a gold mine of information for music producers and engineers to learn skills to help elevate their craft to the next level and beyond.
There is a video series on YouTube by The Recording Revolution called '5 Minutes to a Better Mix' that covers all areas of editing and mixing music at professional standards. We have closely followed The Recording Revolution for some time now and would like to invite our readers to take a look.
Graham Cohrane is the founder of the website and also the one man behind everything going on there. We take our hat off to such a devoted and hard working person that is giving back to the music community in hunormous ways.
We invited Graham from The Recording Revolution to join us in a little interview, here's what went down:
INTERVIEW WITH GRAHAM COHRANE FROM
WWW.THERECORDINGREVOLUTION.COM
E+P: Hello Graham, please introduce yourself to our readers...
I'm a singer, songwriter, freelance mixer, recording engineer, and educator on all things audio. I'm married with two daughters and live in Tampa, Florida. I run the website The Recording Revolution as well as co host the Simply Recording Podcast and Dueling Mixes.
E+P: What made you start The Recording Revolution?
Originally I started blogging only to generate interest in my freelance work. I ended up writing helpful posts about home studios and what gear you needed to buy (and what you don't need also!). I have a lot of friends who are musicians and want to record demos on their own so they would keep asking me, "Graham, what do I need to get a good sounding demo?" I figured the easiest thing to do would be to write all my thoughts out on the blog and send the link to anyone who asked.
So yeah, I basically started as an after thought and intended it to be only for my friends and some potential clients.
E+P: Did you think you would get the recognition towards your website that you are getting? Or did it all come as a suprise?
No way. It was all a surprise and a total blessing. I knew nothing about blogging or social media. I used to hate on Twitter and Facebook. Go figure!
