M Notes from Malaysia By Edmore Gamundani DTM, Division A Governor alaysia was a phenomenal experience. For the first time, I met the world. I met people from all 0ver the globe whose lives have been changed by Toastmasters. For the first time since 1924 a Toastmasters convention was held outside of America and a strong crowd close to 3000 people converged at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The semi finals were the most amazing speeches I’ve ever heard in such a short space of time, and the final was magical. Lloyd Mugabe our district champion held his own and shared the stage with fellow International competitors. A strong team was there to hoist the national flag and support him; William Bapire Past President Engineers, Linda Chimanikire President Engineers and your Division Governor accompanied the champion. We were bombarded with loads of motivation and inspiration from the speakers and were satiated with knowledge from the educationals. I am just saturated to say the least of my experience. I caught on the convention bug. So, if you don’t see me in Las Vegas next year, you won’t be there.
