How Your Eye Works
The iris is the coloured part of your eye. It
has muscles that open and close your pupil.
An image forms on cells on your retina.
The cells, called rods and cones, turn light
into messages.
The pupil is the hole in the centre of
your iris that lets light into your eye.
The cornea acts like a windshield,
protecting your eye.
The lens focuses light on to your retina.
The optic nerve carries messages
to your brain.
