WHAT’S THE BUZZ AT ESS!
First Grade Fun
Mrs. Hulevitch, Mrs. Lajoie, Mrs. Moffett,
Ms. Nicol & Ms. Scully
We are becoming stronger
readers, writers and
mathematicians!
In reading, we have been sharing
informational texts and learning
about non-fiction text elements.
We are learning about word
endings, snap words and reading
strategies. In writing, we have
been researching and writing
about animals and other science
topics. We learned about labels,
headings, introductions and
conclusions. In math, we have
focused on addition and
subtraction strategies. We
learned how to implement
number partners for 10, tens
frames, number bonds and
number lines. In science, we are
learning about the patterns and
cycles of space systems. We will
be observing predictable patterns
and cycles of the sun, moon and
stars.
Our students are working so hard!
