Eagle Edition Enrico Fermi High School/Enfield High School Community Newsletter January, 2016 Quarter 2 Principals’ Message The second marking period is coming to a close. It is amazing how fast each academic year flies by. We are half way through the school year and preparing and anticipating the merge into the New Enfield High School. Much has been accomplished in this venture and more work will follow to make sure we are ready to open in September. The current Enfield High School is moving right along. All students and staff moved from the A, B, C, and D Wings into the brand new Enrico Fermi STEAM Wing over the Thanksgiving break. The students and staff have adjusted well to these changes. Currently, the A wing is being remodeled and very soon, the D wing will be demolished to make way for a brand new performing arts center. FHS staff will begin packing their materials in Spring. Once the A, B, and C wings are completed over the summer, all materials and supplies from Fermi will move to their permanent homes. Although there is still work to be done, the staffs of both buildings are more than up to the challenge to make sure the new Enfield High School is a world class facility ready for the 21st century. This is a very exciting time for our current and future students, our dedicated staffs, and for the entire town of Enfield. In order to assist or Fermi friends to have a smooth and positive transition to the new building, we are planning to host a series of tours throughout the month of August. It is our hope that parents, students, and community members will avail themselves to this opportunity to become acquainted to the new building. We look forward to sharing this new high school with all of you next year. Paul K. Newton, Principal Enrico Fermi High School Andrew B.
