Eagles threw an interception in the end zone on the final play to lose 20-13 and ruin their playoff dreams .
The strong points of Enfield high are their offensive line , with every lineman being a returning varsity starter , and Zach Bonini a dual threat quarterback . Bonini has rushed for 1,200 yards in the first 8 games averaging 150 rushing yards per game all with the help of the offensive line : left tackle : Keonta Crawford ( Senior ), left guard Anthony Martinez ( Junior ), Center Evan Simonet ( Senior ), right guard Zach Dewitt ( junior ) and right tackle Gavin Higgins ( senior ) .
Enfield didn ’ t pass the ball around much this season only throwing 100 times this year , but there main target was Cam Carlander with 14 catches 302 yards on the season and 4 touchdowns .
There secondary target was Jameson Flynn with 14 catches and 180 yards with 1 touchdown . Sophomore running back John Hewitt also had a good season so far with 65 carries and 400 rushing yards .
The defense has struggled some of the games giving up 44 points to East Hartford , 65 to Windsor and 35 to Wethersfield .
