MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS (Tuesday)

A review of arithmetic and a course in pre-algebra with
a focus on real world applications. Students will study
elementary algorithms, area, perimeter, volume, and
linear equations.

This course is designed to orient students to their role
as consumers. In this course students learn how to
manage their personal resources by making informed
choices as consumers in the marketplace. The ability
to make personal financial decisions in the areas of
budgeting, preparation of tax returns, insurance, credit,
investing, and real estate is emphasized in the learning
activities.

This course is designed to develop, reinforce,
and strengthen your ability to critically read
and interpret poetry, plays, short stories, essays,
novels and nonfiction. We will deeply analyze and
evaluate the literary quality of texts as we study
a variety of literary genres. You will enhance your
communication skills through the process of writing
and responding to literature and by listening and
reacting to the ideas of others.

Where did the Earth come from? What causes the seasons?
Why does the moon look different each night? In
this class we will learn about Earths different Systems
and how they interact. We will also learn about the
interaction of the Earth, Moon, and Sun and how
it causes the seasons, phases of the moon, tides, and
more. We will explore the delicate balance that allows
for life as we know it to exist and what would happen if
that balance were to change.
