Credit Diploma
Program (CDP)
In order for a student to be awarded an
Enfield Adult High School diploma,
they must earn a total of 22 credits
(broken down below) and 2 of these
credits must have been earned in Adult
Education. Enfield Adult Education
accepts transfer credits from accredited
schools. In addition to the traditional
classroom setting, students can earn
credits through on-line classes, learning
labs, documented experience in the
military, community service and other
non-traditional learning experiences.
4 credits in English
3 credits in Math
3 credits in Social Studies
(U.S. History and Civics required)
2.5 credits in Science
1 credit in Vocational Education/Arts
.50 credit Financial Literacy
8 credits in Electives

National External
Diploma Program
(NEDP)
Are you motivated? Are you self
directed? If so, the NEDP may be
the program for you. The NEDP is
a nationally and state recognized high
school completion program for adults.
This exciting high school diploma
program provides the mature candidate
with the opportunity to demonstrate
skills in reading, writing, math and
problem solving competencies in a job/
life skills setting. Depending
on your skill level at enrollment,
the program may take six to twelve
months to complete requirements.
The program is self-paced, flexible,
and confidential. The program is
web-based and can be completed online
at home or school. Computer assistance
is available. Students meet one-on-one
with a NEDP trained advisor/assessor
in all phases of the program.
In compliance with Connecticut General Statute 10-73a, there is no fee for registration, books or
materials to any adult enrolled in the Citizenship, ESL or high school completion programs.
