CERTIFIED NURSE’S TRAINING PROGRAM (CNA) & CERTIFIED PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN (CPCT/A) Dual certification program offered in conjunction with Asnuntuck Community College Job Description: Certified Nurse’s Aides and Certified Patient Care Technician Assistants work in hospitals, nursing homes, and long term care facilities. They provide patient care under the supervision of doctors nurses, and other medical professionals. The CAN provides patients with person hygiene, serving meals, feeding and transporting patients, vital signs, weight, recording intake and output information. Patient Care Technicians are multiskilled with divers job duties which may include, vital signs, ECG recording, venipuncture for specimen collection, wound care, and medical documentation. Employment Outlook: There is expected to be a greater need for CNA’s and especially CPCT/A’s in the years to come. With dual certification, the potential for have a greater earning potential. The CNA Program is offered at Enfield Adult Education and consists of 100 hours – 50 hours in the classroom and 50 hours of clinical experience. This course is designed to provide the students with entry level skills to take the certification exam and become certified nurse’s aides. The state Registry exam is given here at Enfield Adult Education. This course lasts approximately eight weeks. Classes will be held two evenings per week at The Enfield Annex – 124 North Maple Street, Enifeld CT, from 5 – 9 pm. Clinical hours vary and include evening and weekend (Saturday) hours. A syllabus will be provided, with a list of exact days and hours. Clinicals are held on the campus of Johnson Memorial Hospital and Parkway Pavilion. Tuition: $850 (Includes textbook) Deposit of $200 required at registration with the balance due at orientation. (Payment plans are available). If you are a SNAP recipient, scholarships are available through a counselor at ACC. There are two ways to register: Visit the Enfield Adult Education website to print a registration packet. You may pay the $200 deposit or full tuition online with a credit card. OR Pick up a registration packet from Enfield Adult Education. Pay the deposit or full tuition by check made payable to “Town of Enfield”. Active students in the ESL, GED, Or Credit Diploma may be eligible for a partial scholarship. DRIVER EDUCATION Enfield Annex - Room A201 Fee $495 - Offered Year Round Tuesday and Thursday – 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Open to Enfield, Granby, Somers & Suffield Residents High school students 16-18 years of age. Includes 8 hours of road work and 30 hours of classroom instruction and mandatory parent class. Course offered throughout the year. Applications available in main office of high school. Learners permit required before road work. SAFE DRIVING PRACTICES 8 hour course - Enfield Annex - Fee $150 Times TBD - Call 763-7032 Open to Enfield, Granby, Somers & Suffield Residents Learn about the physical effect of alcohol and drugs. Analyze the physical characteristics and limitations that pertain to the driving task. Learn about safety and the rules of the road.
