KING’ S ISLAND BOAT LAUNCH,( Sunday) KING ST. CEMETERY & OLD TOWN HALL Fee $ 25 – 11:30 a. m. to 2:30 p. m. Sept. 28( Rain date Oct. 5) Jim Malley No Senior Discount The tour begins at Kings Island Boat Launch( 49 Parsons Rd.) We will discuss the CT River, King’ s Island, and the Angelo Sferrazza Memorial Park. The tour will continue by car to the King St. Cemetery and view the headstones of Enfield residents then head to the Old Town Hall Museum. We will park at Enfield Street School, 1318 Enfield Street.
HAZARDVILLE WALKING TOUR( Thursday) School Street – 2:30 a. m.- 4:30 p. m. Oct. 16( Rain date Oct. 23) Fee $ 19- Jim Malley Senior Discount This walking tour begins at the playground at the corner of School Street and Hazard Avenue. The tour will head up School Street, then head east on Hazard Avenue past the Hazardville Fire Department and the former Bridge Manufacturing Co. to Park Street. The tour continues past St. Bernard’ s Church and School, the former Hazardville Hotel and Cannister Hill. Then turns east past the former Enfield Pharmacy and the Old Hazardville Cemetery. The tour continues past the Hazardville Institute building, the Connecticut Valley Tobacconist, and ends at the former Hazardville Grammar School.( Participants will park on School Street along the Hazardville Playground)
ENFIELD STREET WALKING TOUR( Sunday) & OLD TOWN HALL MUSEUM Enfield Street School – 12:30 p. m.- 3:30 p. m. Oct. 19( Rain date Oct. 26) Fee $ 25 – Jim Malley – No Senior Discount The walking tour begins at Enfield Street School and stops at the Old Town Hall Museum for a tour. The walk continues to the Enfield High School driveway to discuss Colonel Augustus Hazard’ s life and former mansion. The tour heads south past the Congregational Church, the former home of Orrin Thompson, and Jonathan Edwards stone monument and the historical homes on Enfield Street.( Tour starts at Enfield Street School, 1318 Enfield Street)
