Explain your role as the director of Ballet RI .
I oversee both the artistic and administrative sides of the organization . My goal is to present world-class art while creating an innovative , accessible and inclusive organization that connects the beauty of the art form of ballet with the many communities we serve .
What are you most looking forward to for the forty-seventh season ?
Truly there is something for everyone this season . I ’ m excited about Beatles and Ballet because this type of programming allows people to rethink their idea of what ballet is and can be . I ’ m also looking forward to getting in the studio and working with our resident choreographer , Yury Yanowsky , on creating a new version of Swan Lake that will premiere at the Vets in May 2025 !
Why should the community get involved with Ballet RI ?
I believe the true stamp of a community is the art it creates and the culture it surrounds itself with . Now more than ever , I think that arts and art education is essential for our well-being and for the well-being of our children . Ballet RI not only provides world-class performances but access to that art through our many community engagement activities . The more people get involved , the more we can continue to do . Rhode Island Chamber Music Concerts ’ 2024-25 season offers a dazzling range of classical music by today ’ s leading ensembles . RICMC has been presenting visionary performances by the world ’ s leading chamber music ensembles and emerging stars since 1955 . Its sixty-ninth season welcomes the Bennewitz Quartet from Czechia , the Reverón Piano Trio from Latin America , and the Minetti Quartett from Austria . Highlights include clarinet trios by Beethoven , Brahms and Nino Rota , and modern masterworks by Czech composers Erwin Schulhoff , Leoš Janáček , and Antonín Dvořák , performed by one of today ’ s leading Czech string quartets .
