Welcome to Encaustic Arts Magazine !

FROM THE EDITOR

A special thanks to all the artists and advertisers in this issue for their patience and good humor with me while we ’ ve been getting up to speed with our new software .
For those who may be new to viewing magazines online , please look at the next two pages of the magazine with instructions on viewing / navigation options . It ’ s easy once you start reading , but the explanation of icons may be helpful . In addition , you may wish to experiment to find what works best for your particular monitor size and reading preferences .
You ’ ll be able to click on hyperlinks to go to websites or to read more information on an artist , view videos in the magazine viewer , or look at them on YouTube or Vimeo . Also new with this issue , Encaustic Arts magazine is available on mobile devices , including iPhones and iPads .
I thank Douglas and Adrienne Mehrens for allowing me to be a part of this exciting magazine . We ’ ll be working as a team to choose the artists and shape the overall vision for the magazine . We look forward to featuring both established and emerging artists working in encaustic / wax in each issue . Our approach intends to showcase the range of artists using this medium rather than curate to a specific taste or style of work . In that way , we hope to appeal to a broad reading audience — artists and those who enjoy reading about the process and the practice of art-making .
Thanks for reading !
