Vino Notte - A Monthly Ladies Night You Don ’ t Want To Miss

I had been wanting to attend the passed two Nino Notte events ; but as life goes I seemed to always have other commitments . Sound familiar ? It should , as women we tend to juggle many responsibilities and put other things first . In May I made a conscious decision to make attending a priority , so I bought my ticket and arranged my schedule to ensure I could make it . I made it a priority , I made a commitment to myself and I ’ m glad I did , So what is Vino Notte ? Well let me tell you a little about my experience attending the event . When I arrived I was greeted by many smiling faces , I found a place to sit and purposefully chose a place up front so that way I had an unobstructed view and undivided attention to the speakers , The event started with an opening introduction and welcome from our host and Truth Facilitator , Miss Jordan Candelaria ( affectionately known to many as Miss Jordan ). Miss Jordan helped clarify and identify some preconceived notions we sometimes carry as women about other women . Thoughts that limit us and false truths we perpetuate . All the women in attendance were asked to stand and participated in an ice breaker exercise . We stood in two lines facing each other . We were asked to share what we loved about yourself to the woman in front of you , then vice versa the woman then shared what she loved about herself . Then we had to tell the woman what we learned about her based on what she spoke about herself . At times it may be difficult to speak what we love about ourselves especially to a stranger for fear of being judged ; but this exercise flowed quite smoothly and organically , and commenced with the woman giving each other hugs , sincere thanks , and applause . It was empowering and beautiful . It helped quell and dismiss the preconceived notions or how we judge or label other women . And in that exercise we went from being an event full of strangers to an intense
