FISHING METHODS

Continued

Jigging

Jigging is an alternative way of hand catching fish. A jig is a grappling hook that is attached to a line. It can be manually or mechanically jerked in the water to catch the desired fish. This fishing practice typically occurs at night, with the help of light to attract the fish. Out of the many types of fishing practices, this one is environmentally friendly because it has very low levels of bycatch therefore prevening the deaths of many important species in the ocean.
