You will continue to have access to MyFolio for at least two years after graduation to support you in your progression to employment or further study. These opportunities are designed to help develop transferable employability skills, whilst greatly enhancing the student experience. Prospective applicants to the scheme can choose to apply for work in the following areas: What are the benefits? A Year in Industry (sometimes called a Professional Placement Year or a Sandwich Year), is your opportunity to put what you have learned into practice. It enables you to increase your practical understanding of your subject, gain further knowledge and develop skills vital for your future. It is also a great way to try out a potential future career, and offers huge benefits to you, no matter what subject you are studying. Outreach – working with the University’s Partnership Development Office, delivering and supporting the Partnership Curriculum in our partner schools, colleges and community groups. The chance to help raise aspirations and promote further learning to a range of students from nonselective schools, partner colleges and local community groups, who may not otherwise consider progressing to higher education. Your School can help you find the right types of companies, and the Careers and Employability Service will support you through the application process.
