10 Employability Week: Programme of Events YABILITY PO LO TS IN Pro Tools 110 EM P (Stage 1 and 2 Computing students only) Posters will be exhibited capturing the experiences of returning placement students and demonstrating the benefits of doing a placement. This will show second years the diversity of industries, companies and roles available for the Year in Industry. 15 9am-5pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: BW204, Medway campus EM P 5 TS IN 60 Minute Takeover! YABILITY PO LO 10am-4pm: The Marquee (All students) Got a free hour? Fancy trying a new sport or learning a new skill? Why not come along to the Marquee where you will be able give it a go – each session will last 60 minutes and be led by a Kent Union club or society. Each hour, on the hour a new session will begin. EM P EM P Teaching Expo YABILITY PO LO 10 10am-3pm: Royal Engineers Museum 10am-3pm: Darwin Conference Suite (All students) The Royal Engineers Museum, Library and Archive will be opening its doors for a Careers Day. This ‘behind the scenes’ day will consist of sessions led by the Museum staff. Each department will offer an overview of what their job entails, and how they got into that position. The day covers: general guidance to museum employability, marketing/commercial services, fundraising, conservation management, collections management, lunch and chance to look around the museum, education and events, community engagement, and interpretation: exhibitions and galleries. Following the end of the day, participants are more than welcome to stay and have a further look around the Museum, and to ask members of staff any questions. (All students) In partnership with Teach First, the University of Kent brings you the inaugural Teaching Expo. As the routes into teaching seem to change and grow every year, this event aims to provide students with access to a range of different Teacher Training providers, all showcasing their particular training pathway. YABILITY PO LO 10 Student Enterprise… How to be an Entrepreneur 10am-12pm: G4-03, Medway campus (All students) Got a business idea? Want to become an entrepreneur? This interactive session includes a workshop from a business adviser, information on the entrepreneurial society Enactus and a competition launch where you can put your ideas into practice! TS IN (Open to all students, but subsidised for SMFA students only) Fantastic opportunity to gain a professional qualification in Pro Tools 110.
