Emergency Preparedness Emergency preparedness

WATER AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE OR OTHER DISASTER Widespread infrastructure damage is expected following a major earthquake. This will possibly include damage to regional water transmission and storage facilities, distribution pipelines, storage, and firefighting facilities in San Francisco, as well as pipes in homes and businesses. Our top responsibility post-earthquake is: To assess, repair and restore our water delivery system. By focusing our efforts on restoring these systems, we can ensure long-term reliable water delivery for our regional and local needs. We will be working with other SF city departments, state and federal agencies to address public life and safety needs, such as delivery of potable water. What is the greatest way YOU can help? BE PREPARED.
