CLUB HONOURS
MANAGER
Ian Boyd Southcott
Ian spent time as a youngster at several league clubs
and first joined Tavistock AFC as a 17-year old striker. He
then joined Liskeard Athletic, where he became a
prolific goalscorer in the Western Football League,
before his playing days were ended with a serious leg
injury. He turned to management, first with his local
Gunnislake Sunday side, then with home town club
Callington Town in the East Cornwall Premier League,
taking them to promotion into the old South Western
Football League. He joined Tavistock AFC as joint
manager in 2003, becoming manager two years later.
Today he is the longest serving manager with one club
in the south west. His finest moment at Tavistock AFC
was a FA Vase 3rd round win away 2-4 at Deal Town in
2006.
