Following two successive defeats against teams we should have beaten, I feel we (and I count myself in that number) have let the club down badly. While I will take a fair share of the blame for our recent performances, a lot has been out of my control – player unavailability, work commitments and injuries have all been a factor, together with a general lack of commitment to the club. I have had to use 24 players in the 12 first team games so far, and of those only two players have been ever present, with only seven having played in at least 10 games. We cannot go on like this and I am now looking for a commitment to the club – players either want to play for Elmore or they don’t. I am working hard to bring in fresh faces. I have just had a few days break in Ibiza and, for the most part, I was on the mobile trying to persuade players to come here and managers to let their fringe players come here on loan. There are still a few problems to solve at the time of writing these notes, but there is a very good chance there could be a couple of new faces in the line-up today. The biggest blow this season by far has been the loss to injury of striker James Blake – we have missed him enormously. However, Blakey has now been given the all-clear following a second scan on his medial ligament injury. He is chomping at the bit and raring to go and wants to be involved today. I am not going to rush him, but a place on the bench today could do wonders for team morale, and who knows, maybe he can make a cameo appearance. .............................................. Steve (Spiderman) Harris’s wound is also healing over and he could also make it onto the bench, depending on what his doctor said yesterday. Enjoy Buxs (Peter Buckingham) 33
