Camelford
final and Cornwall Charity Cup Final
for the first time in their history.
HISTORY
Founded in 1893, Camelford is one
of the oldest and most established
football clubs in Cornwall competing
in the Cornwall Senior League before
joining the South Western League.
The club were delighted when they
finished a creditable 9th in the SWPL
Premier Division – the highest in
their history.
In 1961 Camelford FC were founder
members of the East Cornwall
Premier League, initially
represented by the second team
until the first team withdrew from
the South Western League to join the
ECPL and the second team joined the
Bodmin and District League, now the
Duchy League.
Since moving to Trefrew Park the
club have continued to develop their
facilities with the construction of
new spectator stands and the
installation of floodlights – a huge
financial commitment for a small
club but a great step forward.
The second team continues to
represent Camelford in the East
Cornwall Premier League Division 1
and the third in the Duchy League.
For many years the club played at
the old ground at Tregoodwell.
However, following notice to vacate
the old ground, and after much hard
work and support from the local
community and the Football
Foundation, a new site was secured
at Trefrew Park in 2006 and
developed into the current ground.
