1ST LESSON – RESEARCH CLASS
Teacher’s feedback
Having in mind that medieval poetry was intended to be sung, played on musical
instruments, the class will start with the sound of some medieval songs played by Pedro
Caldeira Cabral and the projection of some pictures of troubadours and minstrels.
Then, under the supervision of the teacher, the students will start to research
information about Middle Ages and medieval poetry. They will get to know some of the
most important troubadours, among them the Portuguese king D. Dinis, and the main
features of the poetry produced.
2ND LESSON – ORAL PRESENTATION AND SUM UP OF THE MAIN
IDEAS AND CONCEPTS OF MEDIEVAL POETRY
Steps
Oral presentation (5 minutes) by the students.
After that, students will sum up and take notes about the main ideas and concepts
about medieval poetry:
- Social life
- Mentalities;
- Values
- Literary life of the trobadours
- Cultural links.
