According to the observations, opinions of students and teachers as well as the
results of the final test the participation in the lessons was of great value for
both students and teachers.
The teenagers worked with enthusiasm and were really satisfied with this
experience and results of their work. They became more creative, inquisitive
and empathetic. They also enriched their language and learnt better
cooperation.
Working on the world-famous novel, its message and moral was a valuable
experience for Polish pupils. They felt particularly interested while analyzing
communication issues, feelings or symbols. However, they found it difficult to
compare contemporary and past worlds.
On the other hand preparing pictograms turned out to be a really absorbing
activity in which they could express their attitudes and feeling.
Also, preparing the performance was a real challenge because some of them had
never acted in a play before so they not only had to learn acting, but also
overcome the stage fright.
The students really enjoyed the form of classes and the atmosphere. In the
beginning there were some problems with cooperation and task division but these
difficulties soon disappeared. And although the DiE technique was a novelty for
Polish teenagers, it proved to be gripping and truly effective.
