b) The course of the class
I Introduction.
1. Warm-up
2. Introduction to the topic by reminding the Mediterranean zone.
Revision: How can we divide seas ? What kind of sea is the Mediterranean Sea?
II Main part
1. Students determine the position of the Mediterranean with the use of the physical map of
the world (hemisphere, continents).
2. Using the political map of Europestudents find countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
3. The division of students into 4 groups. Each group draws one of the 4 parts of route
"Paradise travel", and performs tasks in the work card, then checks the proper execution.
4. Pupils check the entire itinerary together.
5. After completing the task, students show the route on the wall map.
6. The implementation of a mental map containing key words: cuisine, environment,
architectural monuments, culture.
7. The Summary of work and discussion of mental maps.
8. Preparing leaflets which advertise any chosen places located on the Mediterranean Sea.
During this work, you can use materials from various newspapers, information from tourist
guides, etc. Pay special attention to nature values and historic monuments of these places.
9. Characteristics of the Sea - summary.
