taking advantage of every situation, especially when you play [basketball]—it’s really wise to do that because being an athlete, you have the unique opportunity to develop relationships with people and businesses while you’re playing so you can have successful business ventures after your sports career. This type of mentorship for our youth is the focus and goal of my sports and entertainment agency.
EU: You mentioned earlier, you’re involved in a bottled water venture [ Infinity 02 ], what is Infinity 02?
KT: Being into sports, you learn how important water is to your health. Everybody knows that water has oxygen in it, but this is spring water from Big Bear, California, and we actually fuse it with more oxygen. You can go to www.Infinityo2.com to get more information on the research behind it. I’m also starting another water company as CEO called “Play.” Lots of good things happening, I’m very blessed.
If there’s one thing that stood out to me about Kenny, it’s the fact that he’s relatable. Just a guy who loved playing basketball and wanted to do so as best he could. He made it big through showcasing his skills and being a strong leader in his field. Utilizing his strength, he had the intellect and sense to quickly transition his skills and networks to the business world so he could capitalize on his abilities beyond just basketball. He let his strong desire to see a better youth for tomorrow drive him to create a foundation that
supports just that.
Humility is one thing you don’t expect from high-profile celebrities, athletes, or businessmen, but the phrase that resonated with me from this interview was, “I’m blessed.” He repeatedly stated throughout our time that everything he’s obtained or had the capability to do up until this point has been a blessing from above, and he treats each day as such. Since our city was blessed with such a strong entrepreneur and distinguished gentleman in his own right, it occurred to me that Sacramento wasn’t his hometown. So I began to wonder what makes him stay anchored to our capital city of trees.
