Excused Absences( continued)
2) Students receive an excused absence for the tenth daily absence and all absences thereafter, when they are absent from school for the following reasons:
i) Student illness, verified by a licensed medical professional, regardless of the length of absence
( Documentation required) ii) Student observance of a religious holiday iii) Death in the student’ s family or other emergency beyond the control of the student’ s family iv) Court appearance which is mandated.( Documentation required)
v) The lack of transportation that is normally provided by the district vi) Extraordinary educational opportunities pre-approved by administration and in accordance with
Connecticut State Department of Education guidelines.
vii) Mental Health and Wellness days( non-consecutive) no more than two( 2) per school year viii) Absences due to visitation of parent / guardians during active-duty deployment( up to10 days per year)
