Featured will be national dress, performances and cuisine from around the world. The event, hosted by the International Student Program, is dedicated to Santa Ana College in honor of its 100th anniversary. The festival will take place on Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the quad. The event is free. — Gracia Sanchez Come and live with the dead when El Centro Cultural de Mexico celebrates its 13th annual Noche De Altares in Downtown Santa Ana. The celebration will highlight local vendors and artfully decorated altars dedicated to loved ones and social causes. Community members, families and businesses are invited to build altars. The celebration will take place on Nov. 7 between Fourth Street and Birch Street from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. For more information and altar applications visit nochedealtares.org —Gracia Sanchez Visitors to the Santora Building in Downtown Santa Ana can view work from the California Art Education Association’ s In The Studio 5 showcase at the SAC ARTS Gallery. The opening reception begins 7 p.m. Nov. 7 and the show runs until Jan. 2. Over $400,000 in scholarship money is awarded yearly to SAC students. Requirements for eligibility include a student I.D. number, a minimum 2.0 GPA, federal tax information, an electronic copy of unofficial transcripts, a letter of recommendation from a faculty member and a personal statement. The Scholarship Office, which is located in Building S-Room 201, will host workshops to assist students through the application process. The online application has a time limit of 45 minutes. The Scholarship Office encourages students to have all requirements ready when applying. The application is available at sac.edu/scholarships —R.
