Changes to the Board of Governors fee waiver policy could affect
students’ eligibility for priority
registration.
Student can be placed on academic or progress probation if
they earn less than a 2.0 GPA after
attempting 12 or more units.
“The changes are good, because
it pushes students to get a higher
GPA,” liberal arts major Brisa Garcia said.
Besides priority registration, students can also lose eligibility and
be placed on academic or progress probation.
“I do think these changes will
be effective, because student’s academic performance will matter in
order to be eligible,” Financial Aid
technician Chi Pham said.
For a student to remain eligible
for the fee waiver after receiving
less than a 2.0 GPA, they should
be off academic or progress probation, take one year off of school
or appeal for reinstatement.
