EL DIARIO DEL CISO (THE CISO JOURNAL) Pensando y Trabajando por un Líder de Seguridad Digital Thoughts of LSD From CISO to Digital Security Leader Andrés Ricardo Almanza Junco During the immediately previous year from CISOS.CLUB we have been talking about what happens in the world of digital security professionals. Today it is seen as the digital reality demands more and more professionals with capacities beyond the techniques and this is the time of a new year to invite all digital security professionals to start to reinvent themselves, not as a unique and fundamental event but on the contrary to understand that the career of the digital security professional must be built day by day. From CISOS.CLUB believe that digital security professionals should, rather than seeking a job, is to build a career, this invite it is necessary to explore and get into the cycle of learning new things, being able to unlearn, and therefore relearn as a continuous cycle that involves changes and transformations. The different reports, reports articles, interviews of specialists and observers of the reality of the CISOs have been emphasizing that it is necessary for said professionals to grow in capacities and go from the technical capacities to more evolved capacities; be able to expand its capacity and in it its transdisciplinary. In his book, Developing the Leader Within You 2.0 of John Maxwell highlights the skills that every leader should have and that are clearly applicable to CISOs so that make its evolution Leaders Digital Security. In this range of new capabilities, the Digital Security Leader must move a professional who sees the world of opportunities and possibilities in the midst of a dense digital reality, which is volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. Therefore, new capabilities are required beyond the techniques. If we could summarize we would say influence to advance, priorities to work, know who is to progress, generate changes as your important task, solve the challenge as an angular piece of your work, an attitude beyond restriction, want to serve as part of the essence of its function, to have a clear vision of where it wants to go, a discipline and to adhere to it and finally to think about growing as that capacity that gives it resilience. These capabilities, added to what you now own, will surely turn you into a powerful leader and potentiate your results, thus meeting the needs of the company in which you work today.
