From November 17th to 28th, 28 MUN students
from Grades 10 through 12 travelled to the cities of Prague,
Vienna, and Budapest to take part in the Yale Model
Government Europe simulation in the heart of the Hungar-
ian capital city.
Prague
After two flights and a time zone change, the MUN
team arrived at their first stop, the capital of the Czech
Republic, Prague. The ASFM students visited the iconic
John Lennon Wall and visited the Charles Bridge overlook-
ing the Vltava River. The group also enjoyed local delicacies
including sauerkraut, chimney cakes, and gou lash.
Vienna
The second stop along the Imperial Route took the
students to Vienna, Austria. The group’s itinerary led them
to the Museum of Music, an opera concert, the beautiful
christmas markets, the Mozart statue in the Hofburg
Imperial Palace, and after a long day of sightseeing, to the
ice skating rink.
Budapest
After almost a week of travelling the MUNers
finally arrived to Budapest, Hungary for their three-day
crisis based simulation. At the conclusion of the event
Monica Tuner (11th Grade), Delio Perez (12th Grade), and
Claudia Elizondo (11th Grade) were recognized by the Yale
Model Government simulation for their outstanding work.
But Budapest was not all work for our ASFM
delegation who got to visit St. Stephen’s Basilica, the House
of Terror Museum, and in keeping with their government
simulation theme, the Hungarian Parliament.
