ASOMEX on the Horizon By: richard Husemann In three weeks the 00-01 genera- tion will travel to Tampico to compete in the annual ASOMEX soccer tournament. With regards to soccer, the men’s ELITE team lost in the quarter-finals by a score of 2-1; likewise the women’s team lost in the same stage by a score of 5-1. In basketball, the Juvenil “C” mayor Basketball team (99-01) has currently 3 of 5 starters injured. Finally, the Volleyball men’s team has welcomed new members, and are on track for ASOMEX in Can I Have have your attention ? BY: Isabel cantu On October 27 and 28, Laura García participated in an Oratory competition which took place in Mexico City. As a finalist, Laura debated in 7 different rounds about various topics. After the tournament Laura commented, “Round 6 was the most exciting, seeing as we had a pretty difficult job going against the idea of promoting interracial and interfaith marriages!” The final round was also more challenging than she expected, but fortunately, her team managed to have a judge support their position, and eventually got 2nd place overall.
