Jesus left His disciples with the effective power that stirred their hearts to go and preach the Gospel to Jews then also the Gentiles worldwide. He, the Holy Spirit, provided strength to the disciples through trials and persecutions as they continued to grow and preach the Gospel of Christ. Miracles, sign and wonders, healings, deliverances, seen and heard will never cease. Jesus commissioned His disciples to preach and continue the ministry. His redemption message and saving power continues on through you and me with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Who is He?

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

— John 14:26, NKJV

Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

— John 20:19-22, NKJV

The Holy Spirit is God. This is what He is not. The Holy Spirit is not a philosophical concept or spiritual energy, not a part of natural religion or the pantheism of the New Age and its 21 gurus.2 The Holy Spirit is a person. He is the third person of the triune. The Holy Spirit is the final revelation of God and the Son. He is the manifestation of

God without visualization. He is the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead and when we receive Christ we receive His Spirit with in us.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

— Romans 8:11, NKJV

He is revealed as the power to make holy. In the Holy Spirit, both Father and Son come near for the fulfillment of the promise, “I am the Lord that make you holy.” The unapproachable holiness of God has been revealed by the man Jesus Christ. All that hinders our participation in God’s holiness has been removed by the cross; His death and resurrection. It is the Holy Spirit’s work, at this point, to impart holiness to us and to make it our own. The holiness of God, in Christ, becomes holiness in you. “Be ye holy for I am holy.”

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

— 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, NKJV

We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love. We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us.

— 2 Corinthians 6:6-7, NLT

The word “holy” and “spirit” are

inseparable for all of eternity. Man can only

have much of the Spirit as he is willing to

partake of Christ’s holiness. Many desire

to have the power and the joy manifested

by the Spirit of God, but their lives do not

display it. The reason why is because they
