made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] [grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,
Romans 3:23-24 (AMP)
You are responsible for repentance. You must confess and repent of your sin. Your destiny depends on your response to situations. Therefore, get a Bible and imitate the character of Christ, and His apostles. This relationship with Christ takes your effort too. So work the scriptures.
For [godly] sorrow that is in accord with the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation; but worldly sorrow [the hopeless sorrow of those who do not believe] produces death.
2 Corinthians 7:10 (AMP)
Make Christ your priority. In everything seek Him first; in jobs, friendships, dating, marriage, family, finances, college selection, ask Him to lead you to a Bible based church. Ask Him anything, as much as you want. Engage Him and invite Him into your home, church, work, business, classroom, vacation/retreat, coffee shop. Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you.
But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
Matthew 6:33 (AMP)
He will never leave you or forsake you. Though your parents, relatives, friends or spouse may have left you. The Lord Jesus will never leave you.
Although my father and my mother have abandoned me, Yet the Lord will take me up [adopt me as His child].
Psalm 27:10 (AMP)
He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”
Hebrews 13:5 (AMP)
