The Western New England Event was the second event , but also the most important . This event determined if Buzz would qualify for district events . District events are events that only district teams can compete in , and the winners , go to the FIRST Championship .
At this event , Buzz placed 6 th place ( of 36 teams ), and was the alliance captain of Alliance 4 . Alliance 4 consisted of 3 teams total ; 175 ( Buzz ), 2370 ( IBOTS ), and team 8709 ( Pathfinder Tech ). Buzz lost their third match with a score of 114-102 . They were were able to qualify for district championships , and were awarded the Team Spirit Award . New England First District Championships , MEIR Division , April 5th FIRST was the biggest event . The FIRST event determines whether or not Buzz can advance to the World Championships in Houston , Texas . The first qualification matches were on Saturday and Buzz struggled , going 1-3 .
The second day , Buzz bounced back . Buzz won most of their matches , but was not selected to join an alliance during alliance selection . Although Buzz did not qualify for playoffs , they did win the Team Spirit Award . Now , Buzz will be looking at some off-season events to attend .

ENFIELD — A veteran teacher of more than 30 years , is performing a long term substitute teacher position and continuing his term in the English department at Enfield High School .
