DONATE LATER BY LEAVING A BEQUEST :

A bequest or planned gift to EFSC continues your legacy . By leaving a gift in your Will to EFSC you can support a student in need , or a program of your choice . It ’ s never too early to start thinking about a charitable gift in your Will – now could be the perfect time to create your legacy .

HOW TO LEAVE A BEQUEST :

DECIDE ON A GIVING LEVEL THAT IS SUITABLE TO YOU After considering the needs of your family and loved ones , you can make a bequest of the remaining assets to EFSC . Alternately , you can make a specific bequest , which could include a set amount of money or percentage of your estate .
CONSIDER YOUR INTERESTS – Are you interested in music , health sciences , public safety , or anything else ? Maybe you ’ d like to leave an endowed scholarship or a gift to advance facilities . When you leave a planned gift , YOU get to specify how the funds are used ; it can also be unrestricted , leaving it for the greatest area of need .
PREPARE YOUR WILL – It ’ s simple . We can provide the information to be included with verbiage in your documents . Consult your advisor on drawing up the estate plan .

WHY A BEQUEST ?

TAX BENEFITS : This is arguably the most tangible advantage of leaving a charitable bequest . Giving gifts is a legitimate strategy for reducing your overall taxable estate .
FLEXIBILITY : There may be some hesitation if you are thinking about leaving a gift , especially a larger one . The nice thing about charitable requests is that they can be revocable . If your situation changes , you can update at any time or entirely .
CREATE A LEGACY : You are making a positive impact on the world . You are creating something wonderful by which to be remembered . Whether you have a grand or humble estate , you can make an impact by giving a gift to an organization that you care about .
