EFSC ATHLETICS ACHIEVES ANOTHER
FIRST Top 12 in National Daktronics Cup Standings
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY Eastern Florida State College finished in the top 12 of the 2022-23 Daktronics Cup Standings .
The Daktronics Cup is given annually by the National Alliance of Two- Year College Athletic Administrators to the junior and community colleges in the United States with the most success in collegiate athletics .
Eastern Florida State College was the top team in the state and was 11th in the final standings .
The achievement was earned due to the Titans ’ success . Eight of its 13 sports programs reached the national tournament and 11 made the state tournament .
The women ’ s soccer and women ’ s basketball teams each reached the national tournament semifinals this season . The men ’ s tennis team placed third overall and the women ’ s golf and tennis teams also placed in the top 10 in the nation .
“ What a great accomplishment for our teams ,” said Jeff Carr , Associate Vice President of Athletics . “ Our Coaches and student athletes worked so hard this past year and competed at the highest level . We had a chance to win several national championships . It was an amazing year for our teams and hopefully we can build on this and have another banner year in 23 / 24 . I would like to thank the coaches and staff for their sacrifices and success this season . I would also like to thank President Richey and Vice President Jack Parker for their support and their vision for our athletic programs . None of this would be possible without them .”
