THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED Annual Backyard BBQ Cook-Off and Family Fest is returning for the 7th year to the Eastern Florida State College Melbourne Campus ! Award winning BBQ teams from across the state camp out overnight to bring you the best BBQ to help raise money for EFSC student scholarships and other college initiatives .
Attendees will sample tasty BBQ and have a chance to cast their vote for the People ’ s Choice award . The event also includes live music by Alter Ego , the Red , White & Wheels Car Show , Kid Zone , market vendors and food trucks . Cold brew will be on tap thanks to Carroll Distributing . The upcoming event will also have a fun surprise that will be announced within the new year !
If you are interested in sponsoring or signing up as a BBQ team , contact the EFSC Foundation at efscfoundation @ easternflorida . edu or 321-433-7055 . BBQ teams can sign up as a Backyard Team or a Corporate Challenge Team . All the teams can compete for the $ 1,500 Grand Champion Prize as well as in our three categories : pork , ribs and brisket . There will be a 1st Place ($ 500 ), 2nd Place ($ 250 ), and 3rd Place ($ 100 ) winner in each category .
Teams can also compete for a People ’ s Choice Award . Our Corporate Challenge winning team will receive the coveted Golden Pig Trophy to proudly display until the next event . The Backyard Teams will compete for their own People ’ s Choice prize !
