Michael Cadore, Sr.
Class of 2003 BCC
ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT
Foundation Newsletter
When asked how someone can even begin to select a career path when they don’t have a clue
what they want to do for the rest of their life, Michael Cadore simply replied “you don’t.”
He will tell you that his interest in community service served as an underlying value which, along
with his faith and family, have guided his success.
Michael A. Cadore, Sr., is a community leader with more than three decades of experience in
education, public safety, civic and community engagement and mentoring. He currently serves
as the Associate Provost for Eastern Florida State College’s Cocoa Campus and as an adjunct
instructor. In November 2019, he retired from the Rockledge Police Department and now serves
his city as a Rockledge city councilman.
Before he entered high school, Michael was already contributing to his community by mentoring
youth and doing “ride alongs” with the police department. His athletic prowess led him to play
college and professional football. In 2014, Michael was inducted into the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame and most recently inducted into the
2020 Eastern Kentucky University Athletics Hall of Fame.
He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Cornelia, for 29 years and they have three children. As Associate Provost at the
EFSC Cocoa Campus, life has come full circle from when he attended. “EFSC means having the opportunity to receive a quality education, serve
your community, better yourself and others at the same time,” said Cadore.
Cadore embraces and strives daily to live by the motto, “If you don’t serve your community now, don’t expect your community to serve you later.”
DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI
Seeking Nominations for the EFSC
2021 Alumni of Distinction
Each year, Eastern Florida State College recognizes alumni that have distinguished themselves in their personal
and professional life. Nominations are accepted through November and the recipients are determined by the
EFSC Foundation Board and Alumni committee. The recipients of the award are honored during the Scholarship
Reception in March. Candidates for this award must have attend BJC, BCC or EFSC. But the candidate does not
have to have obtained their AA or BS from the college.
The 2021 award recipient will be a feature speaker at the Scholarship reception and be featured in the graduation
program for two terms.
