EFSC Foundation 2016-17 Foundation Annual Report | Page 3

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR Dear EFSC Friend, As the Director of the Eastern Florida State College Foundation, I want to express my gratitude to all of our partners, the donors, alumni, faculty, staff, corporations, businesses, and EFSC friends who help make the Foundation what it is today. I am proud to send you our Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Annual Report. Our vision to transform lives, build futures and promote academic excellence for the students who land on our campuses is realized from the generous support provided by YOU. The EFSC Foundation has awarded over $2.47 million over the past five years. 547 student scholarships were awarded last year totaling nearly $550,000. Under our President’s direction, the college has created 40 new programs and degree tracks in the fast growth career fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math-STEM) that support our economic business needs in Brevard County. As our college grows and expands, the Foundation has a responsibility to support even more students than before. Since the college opened its doors in 1960, EFSC has touched the lives of over 500,000 people. With more than 80% of our alumni remaining in Brevard County along with the 20,000 current students, a large percentage of our county’s workforce and leaders have been educated at EFSC. Your support makes a lasting impact on our students and our community as well. Thank you. WITH A GRATEFUL HEART, JENNIE KRIETE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2016-2017 Jennifer Kriete, Director Summit M.
